New Here, New ATV and have a Problem

Hi all,
New to the forum and new to four wheeling. I took my new 2009 XP850 out for it's first run today. Everything was ok until I was going downhill. In descents with 2 wheel drive where I used the engine to slow me and then used the throttle to speed up, I was getting very loud backfires. We rode 40 miles today and it backfired about 6 times. Only on steep descents. Is this normal for the XP850?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The good thing is it only did it on steep declines. Also, the dealer filled me up witn 87 instead of 92. Still though, it should not backfire like that. I will give the dealer a call tomorrow.
