New Guy from Canada

Long time atv rider, first time Polaris owner. Last week I sold my 2013 brute force 750 that I had bought new. Was hands down the best atv I ever owned but after 6 years it was time for a change. The very same day I sold it, I was on the hunt for a new ride and this 2017 850 SP showed up on my local classifieds. Tbh, I hardly even considered a Polaris but this one seemed like an excellent deal, had all the accessories that I would have added myself, and still has 3.5 years of bumper to bumper warranty. Went and looked at it the same day I sold mine and I was very impressed with the condition it was in so I made an offer and picked it up a few days later. I’ve put about 50km on it so far and I do like it, although am a bit disappointed with the power (78hp is bs imo) but hopefully can wake it up a bit with some mods.

WOW! This forum is dead!! If this would have been grizzlycentral, kawieriders, etc I would have had 20+ replies by now with half of them giving recommendations on clutch kits and other mods. Is there another forum where all the Polaris guys congregate?

I've always wondered why there are 37 views, but only 1 welcome.
I like this forum, it may be due to nicer weather that it's a little dead and it's the weekend.
I'll recommend RVS Performance for clutch kit, plow, winch & whatever else you may need.
Don't be discouraged, a lot of good experienced help on this Forum. I've learned a lot myself being new to Polaris since 2014.

Thanks indyred570 for your replies. I was just on the rvs website drooling over a clutch kit and ecu reflash. I’m sure those 2 mods would make a world of difference in the quad. Only issue is it would probably void my warranty if something serious were to happen. Will have to contact my dealer and see what they tell me

Coincidentally I’m also from Canada and also just purchased a 2017 Sportsman 850SP. I was looking into getting a brand new 570 but the 850 reared it’s head for practically the same price, so I couldn’t pass it up. I find the top end power great but a bit sluggish off the throttle. Mine is also running 27” tires, so that might be contributing a bit. Definitely thinking about a clutch kit but same reservations with warranty. I’ll decide once I get a few more hours on it.

I'm not lost for I know where I am. But however, where I am may be lost. Pooh
