Hello from Northern Ontario

My son left me his 500 Polaris quad and I haven't a clue how to start it. Where is the start button? I know to pull the choke, turn the switch until the green light comes on that it's in N, but then what?

polaris has had three different types of ways to start machines. the newer ones are turn key like your car. the older ones either had a green button on the left handlebar control that you pushed in to start, or some you had to push up on the red slide kill switch to start it.

What type of 500 is it, any clue. Does it have racks?

95 Magnum 425 4x4 , 518HO carb & air box, 12inch rear wheel conversion.

02 Magnum 500 RMK

If it ain't broke, I can't afford it!

I've poked and prodded every button. Never thought about pushing up on the red sliding kill switch. I'll try that tomorrow-in daylight. Thanks.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. And a special thank you to the suggestions for starting the quard. It was pushing up on the kill switch that worked. Now to dig out all the snow behind it. Again, thanks.
