Smile Just Checking in !!!

Wanted to take a few minutes to say hello,

The wife and I just bought two 2010 Sportsman 550's for putting around on...
We are both fairly inexperienced ATV riders, I have ridden in the past, but not much, she hardly at all...
We are both experienced Jet ski riders and myself I rode motorcycles on and off road for years...

We are taking our time getting used to the machines , just unloaded them off the trailer yesterday and rode them up and back on our the road just getting them broken in some...
We took it pretty easy on us, and the machines, pretty much followed the owners manual as to changing speeds, let them warm up them, let them cool down then ran them again for awhile...
This morning before work I took mine out into the back part of the property and started laying out a pretty nice course through the open field and down and back through the trees the land is pretty rough so mostly pretty slow going, but a few spots to run, looks like this might turn into about a 1/2 mile to 3/4 mile circut.... There are some humps and bumps that are pretty fun, I think I need to take the chain saw along on Sunday and drop a few of the small tress to open it up some...
We have access to some nice back country riding by going about two miles south of our road and taking a county road back into the mountains...
We didn't realize that in Idaho we can ride the ATV's on any road we want except state/federal highways, pretty cool really

Anyway just wanted to say hello, will be browsing the forums searching for info, and I am sure I will have tons of questions...

Always V/R (very respectfully).... Glen

Glen Welcome! I would love to ride in your area sometime. I haven't rode much above CdA. You should checkout the ATV jamboree in Wallace in July. There are several ATV Clubs in Northern Idaho and North Central Idaho that help keep the trails open. I belong to one in Lewiston/Clarkston. Enjoy your new machines and ride safe! Sincerely Dick

Welcome aboard. If I can ever be of assistance with fluids, don't hesitate to ask.

Take care,
