Scrambler 850 - Dealership

Hi All,

New to the forums - and thank you in advance for the help.

I've been out of the ATV/dirt bike game for a while, but looking to buy a Scrambler 850 to jump back in!

Just left a dealership where they have a new Scrambler 850 - gray/black/neon green - Sharp ATV.

Its new and a 2019 model - the guy told me off the bat he could do $9,700 plus some destination fee which was $499 + tax. Oh and 1200 to add a winch and plow - Seems ridiculous to me for a leftover.

Any help on what the OTD cost should be on a new leftover would be great. Looking to buy one in the next week or so, but have no reference points on what a good deal would be.

Thanks!!

-Pat

Dealerships here don’t do much on price w Polaris machines. I know of a dealership that has a few 18s on the floor yet and is not willing to go below the normal factory clearance price from the end of 2018. Dealer told me they will sell at that price eventually. He did show me some ads for used 18s trying to make his point, his price was about 500 over used on average.

Seems odd to not mark down a leftover. For a few hundred extra I’d just go for the 2020. I’m speaking with them tomorrow on pricing for the 2019. Hopefully they are willing to play ball a bit

Put it this way I ordered a 2020 and the dealer took 1k off that's with out any rebates. So between rebates and dealer discounts you should be able to get 1,000-1,500 off a leftover. Plus they should discount the Polaris accessories by 10%-20%!!!!

2011 Sportsman® 800 EFI
GURU front brush guard
GURU rear brush guard
Polaris front lock n ride cargo box

Ditto with Full Throttle Powersports here in the Northern Illinois area. They don't have any left but could locate one for you. $9200 plus tax and Title. No other bullshit fees. They do have a 2019 Sportsman 850SP left for $9600. With that said, your dealership is not discounting the Scrambler for you.

As for the plow and winch, that price isn't too bad. I know the 3500lb winch is around $400 and a plow is not cheap either. Aftermarket I was looking at was gonna run me $1000 by the time I got the mount, push tube and blade.

Mine: 2018 Sportsman 850SP - 26" Bear Claw HTRs on OEM steel wheels(I really don't like the Aluminum ones)
Polaris Hand warmers, Mirrors.
Hers: 2019 Sportsman 450. 26" Bear Claw HTRs on Moose 427X Wheels.

2007 Sportsman 500 EFI, Polaris Winch, 25" Bear Claws QSC Clutch Kit, Hand Warmers
2001 Magnum 325 MOSE 12" rear wheel conversion. 25" Sedona Coyote tires
2017 Polaris Ranger 1000XP - Roof and front glass
2018 Kawasaki KLR650
2001 Magnum 325 Warn winch and Moose 60" plow-Sent to Daughter and Son-In-Law since his blew up
SOLD 2004 Sportsman 600 Twin

Well I spoke to the rep I saw at the dealership. I threw an offer of 9k out the door and I’d pay the 1200 for plow set up. I think I caught the guy off guard. He told me there was rebates he could use up to 1300. So I said okay so price is 9k for ATV before tax. Etc. then he retracted. Also, he said he was waiting an assembly fee. Which I laughed at.

At the end of it he said he couldn’t do that price as he would lose money. Was pretty surprised not even a counter offer. I’ve been in sales a long time and I’m not sure this dude knows what he’s doing.

We’ll see if he calls in the coming days. In the meantime, I’m going to call a few other dealers to see what they offer

Yeah time to move on. There are certain dealers that don't play ball for whatever reason. I think your rep summed it up when he said the unit would eventually sell.

Just an update if anyone else is looking as well. Called into 2 different dealers. One agreed to 9400 out the door price which I will likely go with. They will do the whole
Plow set up for 1k on top. Literally over 1,000+ cheaper than the original dealer. Checking around is definitely the move!
