The Rawhide Boys Ranch Charity put a Polaris Explorer on Ebay yesterday, less than 24 hours later with 6 days left it had 24 bids. This should be interesting to watch.

In the end these older ATVs are not worth a lot of money but I've been known to be penny wise and dollar foolish because I like to make things work. haha!

Good luck on your project as well.
No they are not worth a lot of money, but there is satisfaction in bringing one back from the dead. I have worked on several machines for other people where we spent about the same money that it would have taken to buy the machine. However, that amount would have bought the same machine that we started with. So in the end, for the same money we got a machine that was dependable and safe.
Its pretty satisfying to take an old one and get it back in good shape. How good a shape sometimes depends on how creative you can get with repairs and how much green you're willing to invest. There's very few things on them that just can't be fixed or replaced.

Hey Stave and Polman,
I agree. There is a huge satisfaction in getting these old machines running and having them be reliable and safe. I just wish I could stop before I have more money invested in an atv then they are worth! haha!

Thanks

It almost seems like a miracle when it fires up and idles.

Yeah, but when it does, the feeling you get is something that you can't explain to anyone that hasn't done it!
