15 sportsman 850 will barely run starts rite up but idle jumps up and down and it backfire in the intake no check engine icon. Tps set to .67 volts tried different map sensor. Timing didn't slip just 2 months ago thought timing slipped so I pulled the motor and checked gear index and it was good had it welded. After getting her back together was running like crap and idling really high. With tps set to .67 just ran like crap, bottom the tps out one way it would idle okay but had no throttle response bottom tps out the other way witch was .39 volts idle and run good, but there has to be something wrong there any ideas? put 100 Miles on that trip no problem besides popping the stuck throttle code witch is weird cause I did the tiptie trick. Got back let the atv sit for a month and did power steering swap now starts rite up but has a surging idle and coughs and sputters when trying to hit the gas. Clean map reset tps to .67 and same thing pulled the plugs and looks like the pto cylinder is running lean. Any ideas where to start????? Please help

I have no idea, but I do have the service manual for the 17/18 years, might be the same stuff, be happy to send it your way if you don't have a copy, just let me know your email!

Good luck!

I wouldn’t mind a copy. PM sent.

I'm not lost for I know where I am. But however, where I am may be lost. Pooh

Maybe check fuel pressure? My 1000 was real sensitive about having enough fuel pressure. Just guessing!

Havent had a chance to get a fuel pressure tester yet but did swap new injectors I had laying around same thing but what I did notice is after having it running and I pull the air box the pto runner and throttle biddy is full of exhaust gases. Is it possible that the valve adjustment I did before the last ride tightened up on the ride and now my intake valve is slightly open causing my issue??

Hopefully one of the gurus will get you pointed it the right direction. In the mean time ,,,While in park Does the RPMs change when you turn handle bars ? Did you move or zip tie T/C wrong? Throttle cable adjustment ?
Whats a tiptie trick?

Yeah I did the zip tie in the throttle, adjusted throttle cable, changed map sensor, changed and adjusted tps, Iac valve seems to be working but does get quite warm, checked coil and spark plug wires, changed spark plugs I am at a lose. Only thing haven't done yet is check fuel pressure.
