1994 400L carb lines

Hey guys i bought this bike and am doing some work on it. My question is there is a small clear fuel type line that comes from the engine crankcase and up by the carb. There is an outlet on the mag side of carb that looks like this line should attach to because there is no other line there. Should this line be attached?

First of all, welcome to the forums. The line you mentioned is a case vent hose and should run up to a hole on the inside of the upper frame rail. It does this to reduce the chance of sucking water into the case. The fitting on the carb is a vent also and should have its own hose. It also should run up to a second hole in the frame. You might have to remove the fuel tank to see the holes.

I know the "VOICES" aren't real but they have some great ideas.

Ahhh. If that crankcase vent line was hooked to the carb vent line would this cause it to run poorly?

Possibly, definitely not going to help.
