What is a 10mm offset?

Hi guys, I'm somewhat familiar with a 4+3 wheel being about 2 inches wider on each side... How about a 10mm offset? How much wider would that be?

I'm looking at these wheels: https://www.msawheels.com/product/wh...sh=satin-black

Well, 25.4mm is equal to 1 inch. So 3/8" is 10mm.

Chk them out here: https://www.mudthrowers.com/inc/sdetail/27484/114539. They have them listed with the 4+3 offset. Plus mud throwers is a good retailer.

Ok so IMO you don't want 4+3 on your wheeler.

Chk out STI's HD series they make an almost stock 6+1 offset. Other then that again IMO 5+2 is as wide as you want to go on the XP chassis.

I have a 2018 850sp and I don't like the wheels. I haven't found anything else I like yet but I would agree that you want to stay as close to the stock offset as you can.

The offset on the stock wheels for the 2017 and 2018 850 is the same as on the Razor with the wheel center at the outside of the wheel. So if you put a 4-3 offset wheel on it that moves the wheel center back toward the inside of the wheel and will stick out way beyond the fenders. So then you will get covered with whatever you drive through.

Mine: 2018 Sportsman 850SP - 26" Bear Claw HTRs on OEM steel wheels(I really don't like the Aluminum ones)
Polaris Hand warmers, Mirrors.
Hers: 2019 Sportsman 450. 26" Bear Claw HTRs on Moose 427X Wheels.

2007 Sportsman 500 EFI, Polaris Winch, 25" Bear Claws QSC Clutch Kit, Hand Warmers
2001 Magnum 325 MOSE 12" rear wheel conversion. 25" Sedona Coyote tires
2017 Polaris Ranger 1000XP - Roof and front glass
2018 Kawasaki KLR650
2001 Magnum 325 Warn winch and Moose 60" plow-Sent to Daughter and Son-In-Law since his blew up

So is the offset on 2017 and 2018 850's slightly wider than a 2016? I'm not quite following, sorry...this is new to me.

Here are my thoughts. I'm "thinking" about doing the 2-inch highlighter kit and heard I might need a 1-inch spacer to offset the slight lift. No way I'm doing a crappy wheel spacer, so thought I would choose wheels that give me a little extra width. I though 2 inches higher and an inch or two wider would make good handling and get through deeper snow etc.

Why the lift??? You can get big tires on your ride. I mean if you are going to go through big skeg and snow I get it. But if it's just to be a more capable trail rig you might just want to consider bigger tires. Also if you go lift and tires axles are going to be needed also.
