Tires

I was wondering if my 2001 Polaris sportsman 400 will be able to handle 27 inch mudlites xtr radials.

Do you plan on adding a clutch kit?

I run 27" Zillas (27x9 front 27x11 rear) on my 1998 sportsman. I have a 2" highlifter lift and an EPI clutch kit. You'd definitely be rubbing without the lift. I have stock sportsman alloy wheels and needed a 2" spacer up front to keep from rubbing. The Zillas are pretty light and seem to work well on pretty much every terrain so far. Just be prepared for an arm workout, the larger tires and lift make it tougher to steer.
