UTV max. width is 60 inches in faster group and 65 inches in slowest group only. Testing wider machines for this ride.
I was up there helping clear trails last week. As always, a great trail! If you haven't talked to Dan and gotten signed up better get on it! Ride is coming up quick! By the look of the long term forecasts I saw this morning, weather should be great. High 60s with no rain. When you do talk to Dan, please be sure to tell him where you heard about his ride!
Last I saw, the weather was rainy Tuesday and Wednesday then dry and sunshine Thursday and Friday. Saturday had a 50/50 chance of showers mainly in the morning. Sunday looks dry though so Dan has talked about going to Sunday if Saturday sucks.
6 inches of rain in the last 24hrs there so this ride has been rescheduled to Sunday, the 13th of October. The ride for the 19th is still on though too!
It was great! As usual, Dan put together a very good course. I will admit I had a hand in some of it as we marked it both last week and this week before the rides. Helping mark the trail, I got to see some of the challenges with it. This land owner doesn't want us in this field yet, there is a swamp of liquid manure in the corner of this field where we wanted to go and so on. But I also saw that some of the land owners specifically take a few rows of corn out along the edges of fields to make room for the riders.
Really good article about Dan and the rides in the Middleton-Cross Plains Times-Tribune on Thursday the 17th. I read it on Friday, but haven't found it on line yet.
