Upgrade to the Ace

I'm considering upgrading to an Ace from a Sportsman 800. Having never driven an Ace I know nothing other than its similar to my 800 but has a roll cage, and more car like. But do not know it's performance or reliability. Can anyone tell me of the benefits?
Thx. Jack

I owned an Ace 570 for two years and believe me its isn't even remotely similar to your 800 Sportsman. The aces are like riding an awd go cart. They will climb a tree and the 570 models will run over 60 mph, The ride isn't great but tolerable Probably the most fun machine I have ever ridden. The 570 models get great fuel mileage and will have power very similar to your 800 but with a lot more torque, and the 900 XC model with 78 hp will run with just about anything. There aren't the heat issues with the Ace lineup compared to the sportsmans

Haven't driven one yet but the ride is my concern. On the sportsman I can get on my feet when I need to and prevent some jolting to my body where the Ace you just have to sit there and take it, unless the suspension is better.

The first mod to do to an Ace is get suspension seat brackets or a suspension seat and then improve the ride with a good set of radial tires. I went up to 26 inch tires and the ride improved dramatically With both bigger tires and the seat brackets it actually rode pretty good but the ride on those cheap Carlisle tires hurt bad when hitting bumps

That's what I was afraid of, do they make "seat shocks"?

The suspension seat brackets made by Desert molding concepts works kind of like a seat shock and they take out most of the harshness that you will experience. It was the best mod money I spent on mine @ $99.00, and then the bigger tires. If you are really consumed with rough riding I would buy a suspension seat. I would buy another Ace without even thinking about it. They are great little machines but they aren't going to ride like a bigger machine. The 17 Ace 570 SP comes with front A arms rather than struts and I'm sure will ride better than the base model
