i tried to seach but didnt see anything, my wifes 14 850 has green coolant in overflow bottle, my 14 1000 is clear, never heard of clear coolant, is this normal or shouldi change out before cold weather, only had it for a few weeks bought brand new
Yep test it ASAP then bitch your dealer out if it's straight water. Most antifreeze are green/yellow, gm's craptastic dexcool coolant was orange and some of the compatible stuff is too.
odd it is clear in overflow, i saw it when new and figured new style coolant, just tested and says good till -25 looks greener in rad, wonder if they topped off overflow with water, seems like after 50 mile ride it would have mixed a little, i will top off with my universal green/yellow coolant and check after next ride, thinking worth changing because just dosent look right, thanks for the input
All glycol is clear. The die is added towards the end of the run to give it colour, as per the clients request. In commercial heating applications it is left clear, it tells the story on condition of the glycol loop, and tested to confirm if additives are needed.
did not know that, i work on cars and it is crazy the amount of different colors out there but i was told the colors are mostly for service intervals and metals, because of different additive
