Touring backrest removal

I do 95% solo riding so I'd like to remove the backrest. Not having any luck searching this topic. Assuming this has been done, what was the best way? Making/buying a new bracket where the backrest connects to the seat? Thank you

Take the seat off and you will be able to see how to remove it. Just a couple screws I think.

What model do you have? On my 570 Touring Non-SP, I just fabbed a small piece of aluminum plate and put a couple of new rubber seat mount grommets in it.

I have a 2018 850 touring, and I wish Polaris would make a separate cushion that you could snap in place for times when you want to remove the passenger seat.

2018 Sportsman 850 Touring SP

Brush guards
3500# winch
Hand guards
Fender flares
Sedona Rip-Saws 26x9-14 & 26x11-14
ITP SS212 wheels

2018 Sportsman 450 HO

Brush guards
Hand guards
Fender flares
Kenda Bear Claws 25x8-12 & 25x10-12
ITP SS212 wheels

My 2012 has a separate storage box that can be snapped into place when the entire passenger seat has been removed. Since the touring 2018's are still the older body style similar to the 2012's, why did Polaris get rid of the very useful interchangeable feature??!?
