2016 sportsman transmission

My 2016 570 just started acting a little strange. Noticed it while riding this past weekend. When I let off the throttle and let the wheeler slow via the gearing I hear/feel a little bit of a grinding. More feel than hear I guess. More so when i'm slowing while going downhill. Today I took the wheeler for a quick spin and think I still feel that grinding just before it stops. Mind you the ride today was on flat level surface, no downhill spots to really check it out. Also if I put the wheeler in park the shifting lever will fall back just a tiny bit after a few seconds. Like it drops into park. Also if I put it into park and rock the wheeler forward or back the lever does the same thing. Can't tell if im just imagining a problem or what.

Any ideas? Am I just imagining this or does it sound like I might have a real problem to worry about? Last thing I want to do is take it in and get charged for basically nothing.

Rocking to get it into park is not uncommon. Both my machines with park are that way. Nothing to worry about.

How does your trans oil look? Ever changed it? That would probably be the first thing I would do is dump the transmission oil and look for metal filings on the drain plug and the bottom of the drain pan. Then go on to front and rear differentials if they haven't been changed recently.

If you don't do your own maintenance take it to the dealer or other shop and have the trans oil and differential oils changed. Explain the problem so they know to look for metal. If they don't find anything, great! you have new oil and peace of mind.

I just went through and changed all the fluids at the beginning of Spring this year. Got the day off today. Maybe i'll go through it again just to see if I come across any metal.

while your changing fluids, check for a broken axle also, depending how it broke it could just be hanging in the cv boot and making a slight grinding noise,
I had that happen on the 570,
Grab the axles and try to move them side to side, not in and out, a little play in and out is normal.
