2015 Sportsman 570 EPS EBS front hub bearings??

Hey all,

So I went to replace a front left axle yesterday and it turns out she needs ball joints, a arm bushings, wheel bearings and.......hub bearings???

I can't find any mention anywhere about hub bearings but I swear that is what I'm seeing with the hub and axle removed (red arrow in picture) ?

I'm totally lost on this, is my wheel bearing missing the outer seal/shield or something?

The exposed balls in the race make contact with the radius on the hub, so it looks correct to me, am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance guys,
Mike

Yup your bearing came apart. It's common no biggy. Just have to pop the inner race off the hub and install new bearings.

That's no the hub it's the strut. The rear is called a carrier.

Thank you for the feedback bp, I really appreciate it man!!

Ah the joys of buying used machines, eh?
Hahaha.

If the inner race/outer shield was still on the hub it wouldn't have tripped me up so much, but it's looking like the previous owner just put it back together with missing the shield/race when he put the superatv a-arms on it..

The a-arm bolts were also like finger tight, I probably should've figured something wasn't right.

Oh well, all the parts should be here by Thursday and I'll get her back together this weekend.

Thanks again bp, my mind is at ease, lol.

Show us a picture of the hub. The inner bearing race will be stuck on it. The hub has a square shoulder. The inner race is radiused and fits on the ball bearings. You have to get the race off the hub or it won't fit on a new bearing when it is installed.

It happens a lot. You're not the first one that didn't notice and won't be the last.
