NGK plugs

Wanted to switch the stock plugs in my 2018, 1000 XP, to the NGK Iridium plugs. Does anyone know the proper plug number to use?

It should be the NGK 6043s.

Your machine comes with autolite plugs probably manufactured specifically for Polaris.
Autolite lists a 5682 copper plug in their parts finder for our machines. That's probably the stock plugs.
They also list an iridium plug XP5682.
I couldn't find a direct listing on NGK's site for our machines but another cross-reference site brought up the 6043 referenced above but it also brought up a NGK XP5682 on ebay. I can't say for sure but suspect that's a new offering by NGK that isn't listed on their parts finder??
Searching "XP5682" on ebay brings up the Autolite and NGK plugs along with a Denso 3457 and a Platinum tip Bosch 6711. The only Champion offering I saw is a copper tip.
The Autolite parts finder also has the specs of the plug if you wanted to dig into it further but I suspect any of them will work.
I use copper plugs myself. The irridiums are designed to last longer but somewhere in my research of spark plug types a few years ago I found reference information showing that copper plugs are more efficient than irridium.

If that's what the RVS guys prefer that's what I'd use I think.

The 6043s are known throughout the Polaris world as the go to plug for the XP machines. I've been running the same pair of 6043s for 5 years and over 4000 miles without issue.

Did you change the factory set gap on the plugs or leave it at .040 in / 1.0 mm?

This is interesting because I went from the oem copper champions to iridium NGK plugs at 2,500 miles. The champions looked great, perfect. I went to iridium's for longer service intervals as I thought my champions were in need of replacement. Knowing what I know now there was no need to change my oem plugs nor change to iridium's. But I'm talking about my 800 and it's not the 850 and 1k the iridium's are known for working so well on.
