I had a slight rollover on my 2018 sportsman xp 1000 and am wondering if anyone has replaced the throttle paddle before? I ordered a new paddle off of Polaris's part website but I can't seem to figure out how to remove the throttle paddle off the fly by wire system since it has a cap on the bottom. Do I drill it out and use a screw extractor to get it off?
Funny thing I took mine off so I was going to put on a Billet but change my mind. OK all you do is pop the cap off then you need a 15 Torx (Tamper-Resistant Plus) as I used a Standard 15 T-R Torx but it was very hard and had to break that center pin out to get it to work.
drive by wire need to drill a small hole in centre of little plastic cap. screw in a sheet metal screw of some sort and pull cap off
Its a special screw call a a tamper proof IPR Torx 15. A reg tamper T15 torx did not fit. I had to order mine from the USA.
No one around in Toronto has ever heard of this screw before
check position of throttle lever for full travel because its a spline and cn go in different positions
Custom moto Quad in Canada sells alumin throttle lever and has step by step procedures to install on website
