I have two ATV's I am rehabbing; a 2000 Xpedition 425 and a 1996 Magnum 425. Both had bad master cylinders so they were replaced with aftermarket master cylinders from Amazon. Both had the brake lines from the master cylinder to the distribution block replaced with stainless steel braid brake...

Hi, My brake pads are gone and discs are in awful condition so I need to change both. I need to buy 3 x rotors, 3 x pads but is there something else that needs to be always changed when fixing brakes? Any rubber parts that are most likely bad or something else.. I already ordered pads: TRW...

I bought a used 2008 sportsman 500 HO/EFI. I drove my machine to the front yard, changed the front pads and now it won't start. It makes one click noise. The display comes on. I ran a diagnostic and the codes are 44, 47, 58 and 55. I tried removing the negative battery cable for 30 seconds to a...

However when i depress the back brake pedal, i get full hard brakes on the...

Hey, everybody, I figured I'd go ahead and get registered here now that I bought a 2000 Sportsman 335 tonight. It was in good shape (has a cracked headlight housing, but cranks right up and runs good with no smoke), and I'm all ears to hear about how to keep this thing running well. The...

So yesterday I was out riding my 2008 sportsman 500, it has brand new brake pads and I bled the brakes about two months ago. But yesterday as I'm riding I slowly lost a little brake pressure and my lever had a little more slack then usual. Then I go to hit them again and I have no pressure at...

Just bought my new (to me) Predator 500.. Looking to change bars and levers.. Would there be any reason for the RENTHAL Intellilevers (Brake&Clutch) to not work? Dont think there would be a problem, just to double check! Thanks,
  10. ATV Purchasing and Price
I bought a new 2015 sportsman 850 about a month ago. Have a little over 100 miles on it so far but this weekend i noticed my hand break was loose after having it locked on for any period of time (about an hour) and this was friday. Now sunday after riding all weekend I have no hand break at all...

2 questions about a 1997 xpress 400 2x4 with a rebuilt 250 motor 1st-Brake lever feels a little spongy. Takes awhile for ATV to come to a stop. I replaced the pads. The old ones were actually in pieces. I installed new wheel bearings. I bleed an entire bottle through lines. The rear/foot...

We just bought my daughter her first atv. It is a 2002 Polaris Scrambler 90X. For the most part the atv is perfect, except there is no rear brake or parking brakes.. I have no clue on how to fix of repair them.

Hey everyone, I blew the piston seal out of my rear brake caliper on my 2013 trail boss. I found one at almost half price, it will be here next friday. I have never installed a piston seal before, do i just slide the old one out and slide the new one in? I am a diesel mechanic, i'm sure i can...

Hey yall, my trail boss blows through brake pads (severe duty) extremely fast, yes i do like mud so i expect it somewhat but anyway, i've blown the rear piston seal because my pads were too thin. I found one at partzilla for almost half the price of anywhere else. I've never installed one...

I wondered why there is no breakdown of the auxiliary (rear) master cylinder in the Polaris shop manual for 2000 325 Magnum 4X4. They sell only the entire unit for $140.99! The 2 seals on the piston -- not the outer dirt seals -- have tiny markings. One is "77" and on the opposite side "W WE"...

Hey all, New to the forums here. Bought a quad for the wifey and want to get her up and running soon. Having some issues with the brake system on my 1998 Polaris 400 Sport. I have bled the system time and again to no avail. I have installed a new rear brake caliper as well as brand new brake...

Hello, I have an 05 sportsman 500. I need some front brake pads but I am unsure of the best kind to get. I have read that sintered pads are better but can eat up your rotors. Any advise you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Just picked up a 2010 Sportman 550. The dash says it has 47 hours. The bike is really clean with one exception. The brakes pads are all but gone and the rotars are scored. How could this happen in less than 50 hours or could the hour meter have been reset?
