I smoked both low beam lights and the indicator lights started getting brighter and brighter, so after checking the charging system here is what I got. 7-10vdc to battery(battery is fully charged and tested fine with hydrometer) 18.8-21.3 Volts AC output from the regulator (yes that is correct AC no dc voltage) going to all electrical plugs. I put an ammeter between the stator power wire and voltage regulator and it is drawing 2.7 amps at an idle. which seems Kind of low to me but before I put a regulator in it I'm looking for any input on the amp draw. I don't want to smoke a new regulator because the stator is bad as well. thanks in advance -Justin

i believe a bad stator puts out low voltage, so it sounds like your is ok. more than likely just a voltage regulator.
