So I had idle issues with the stock carb on my son's newly aquired 90. Replaced carb and it idles like a champ! But now when I give it throttle it either has very littlw power, or it sporadically accelerates and then looses power. It doesn't die just looses power.

Things I've done:
Replaced fuel filter
Replaced air filter
Replaced carb
Tried eclips in 2,3 and 4 from top on needle.
Adjust air setting multiple ways
New spark plug
Compression at 90lbs WOT
Disconnected and reconnected ETC
Fresh gas and oil

I think thats all.

What am I missing??? Im starting to go insane with this thing.

The new carb had a brand new one on it.

Could the reeds be a factor?

So I checked a few more thing today.
Swapped in a new plug, no difference
Check reed and they looked like new
Checked spark again, good blue spark
Moved eclip on new carb needle to the bottom, richest setting..no difference

Wheeler idled like a champ, could move decent if I walked beside it but as soon as sat on it and put load on it it struggled to move and would bog down and stopping moving.

Cleaned old carb again and put it back on.
Same deal as before, won't idle. Had to keep my hand over the rubber vent tube that goes to the air box to keep it running. But now if I quick jumped on it and gave it full throttle it would go pretty good. Wouldn't run perfectly smooth but ran pretty darn good.

Not sure what to check next.
Ideas???

I think it's got to be something fuel related because of the differences i am seeing between the two different carbs. New carb idles but doesen't wanna go, old carb can't idle without blocking air box intake but actually wants to go.

Do i buy a manual choke for the carb?
Do i buy different jets for the new carb?
Do i buy replacement jets for the stock carb?

Is there a spec and way to check the CDI with a multimeter or something?
