Hello everyone. Really hate to make my first post a plea for help but I'm at a loss here. Bought the bike knowing it was a no spark issue. Problem is that I didn't think it'd be this rough to find the issue. Found out the pick up coil was damaged so I replaced the whole assembly along with the stator. I swear right after I did this, I had spark but maybe not. Once I got it together enough to try and start it, it wouldn't. Also noticed I didn't have spark. I verified the ignition key works because the speedo will light up when I turn it on. The kill switch is bad but was told that it should start with it unplugged.

Now, should I adjust the pick up coil placement? I know it has a ridge that it sits in but could there be an issue with it? Also, is it necessary to scuff up the "bump" on the flywheel with sand paper even though it doesn't look bad? I don't want to plop $150 for a CDI until I exhaust everything else. Oh, I also have 2 coils I've used for the sparkplug and neither has spark.
