I recently purchased an 05’ 800 from an uncle. I was able to take it out for the first time yesterday (some snow), and found out that front wheels were not engaging unless I was in reverse with the over ride button pressed. Also, the speedometer would fall off randomly. For example, if I was riding along at 25 steadily the needle would drop 5-10 mph and then return. From what I’ve read the speedometer and awd are intertwined.

Due to the fact that that the awd works in reverse I’m inclined to believe that it’s an electrical problem. That being said I also believe it is probably a speed sensor. How does the speedo decide what speed to display? Is it possible that a sensor is loose? Where do I start? Thanks for any help
