Last year my chain snapped, punched a whole in my crankcase and broke 3 teeth off the gears in my transmission. Despite my lack of special tools I've been able to get it all apart. Figured I would just order a new set of gears off ebay and throw it back together with new gaskets. Well this morning as I was putting the new set in I discovered that some gears are slightly different sized and the main rod wont fit inside the bearing of my crankcase.

My question is... why? Are there different size gears for different years? Are there different models? If I find a bearing that would fit it would it work or would it cause other problems? The problem I'm having now is that I can't find more gears on ebay and I kind of need to finish this week... any ideas or suggestions? Where else could I shop and how can I make sure they'll be the right size?

P.s. the seller on ebay said the parts were off the same year predator 500.
