When plowing with my 08 Sportsman 500 HO EFI I get on a slippery or rough surface and go to back up. There is a clunking noise coming from, I'm guessing, the front gearbox. Mostly in reverse, but also in forward, when stuck. (on a log) It never does it when there is traction to all four tires. I don't think the right front wheel spins when in 4WD. Can anyone please help me? Thank you so much in advance!

If its any help

I have a 1999 Sportsman 500. when i was driving Over an embankment and got going to fast i couldnt stop on the other side and hit it and it knocked me foward a bit but i tryed to back out and herd a clunk after that no AWD so if you hit something with your snow plow i think that could easily break your front end. something to watch out for maybe.

Belt?

Thanks DownnDirty. What about the shaft? Can you be more specific?
The dealer says it might be the belt. A flat spot. Does that sound right to you? Thanks a lot!!!
