I have a 1986 polaris trail boss 250 and the piston in the rear brake is seized. Can the brakes be repaired or do they need to be replaced? If they need replacing, I have been unable to locate any replacement brakes online specifically for this model and year. Are there other brakes I can use on this ATV and make them work that were not meant for this model and year?

The piston can be removed hydraulically and the caliper can be cleaned up and perhaps be made to work, but there are no parts available

I devised an adapter to use a grease gun to pump the caliper full of grease pushing the piston out - about 1200 psi with no compression even if seized - it just gently pushes the piston out and the grease is easily cleaned out using solvent.
