Hi, I have a 1989 Polaris Trail Boss 2x4 that I've been trying to start. I bought it with some parts missing, we got it to turn over but will not start. Got desperate and sprayed with Ethyer, made no difference. The electric start works if I jump the seleniod, turns over, jumping with my truck. Finally, did a compression test, had 30 pounds off the battery without the truck running. Next, I got 60 pounds with the truck running. I think I have a compression problem. Please advise me if anyone knows more about it than I do. Thanks for your help.

Try this

Hey stonerboys, I had the same problem with my 1989 Polaris Trailboss 250 2x4. It turned out to be the coil, but I replaced the coil & CDI box, now it runs like a champ! I bet it's the coil, they don't cost two much. Good luck!
