Just got done with a complete rebuild of the engine on my 1995 sportsman. After getting it in the frame I am having some issues with fitment.

It seems that the engine is tilted too far back and it is making the airbox a very tight fit. the inlet of the carb is actually inside the air box outlet. the coolant hose on the head is also very close to the frame. I have tried adjusting the motor mounts but I just dont have the travel needed to make them fit right. The motor mounts are in good condition and nothing looks bent.

Any ideas?

If I remember correctly, that machine uses three different size engine mounts that are very similar but different. They are easy to get mixed up. You might try rearranging them.
Good luck and let us know what you find.

Thanks for the tip, I had ordered a couple mounts off eBay that may or may not be right. I went to the dealership and ordered 2 new correct mounts to see what happens. 18.99 a piece, should have ordered them in the first place. Hope it helps.
