OK..I fill the overflow tank to the minium line...I fill the radiator to within 1/4 inch of overflow...I start it up , and immediatly water starts shooting out of the overflow tank Cap , More RPM , more water... then I remove the radiator cap and the water is heavily circulating...i put the cap back on and it DIES....I blow out the spark plug , and we do it all over again...WHY is this happening ?

Don't know if this helps but my sportsman 500 was shooting coolant out the radiator because it had a blown head gasket and was blowing compression into a water jacket.

Sounds like a blown head gasket to me as well. I just replaced the head gasket on my 01 Sportsman 500 HO, it wasn't too tough. If you have moderate mechanical ability you can do it in your garage. Ask you local dealer to make a photo copy of the torque specs on the head because it is not something that you can just ballpark.
