1998 Polaris Magnum 6x6 Fluid Change, Hub Lock Issues & Manuals?

I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.

I've just pruchased an 1998 Magnum 6x6 that needs a little TLC as a project. Keeps me away from the wife.

Anyway, I want to do a complete fluid change. Do I need to use Polaris oils or can I use run of the mill oils which are considerablt cheaper.

Is there an on line parts manual or workshop manual. Can't find 1.

My plan is to get it up and running to begin with and then do something a bit different with it. I follow a youtube channel and the bloke did a mini Pinz conversion. I fancy having a blast at that.

When I purchased it, the vendor said he couldn't get the front hubs to lock. He's changed the oil in the hubs and the chain looks good. Any pointers? Or an obvious place to start my investigations.

I'm fairly handy with hand tools so not frightened to get my hands dirty

Welcome! Changing all the fluids... great start, don't forget to dump the gas to be safe and swab the tank, check the airbox and filter while you are at it.
Polaris fluids are not needed, fluids are fluids as long as your using the right type/specs/numbers. Recommend a quality name brand, if your using a cheap quality, recommend you change it more often. It's cheap enough and easy and quick enough to do yourself.
Someone should chime in here with a shop manual, if not, Google is your friend.

Any place to ride in the UK or just using as a property/farm machine? I like that it keeps you away from the wife. She likes it also, she said it keeps you out of her hair also lol.

Mine is not that pretty. The previous owner had left bale wrap in the box and it rotted out, so building a new rear box from scratch.
He also managed to round off every brake union on the rear brake set up. So looking to replace that.
Does anyone know the thread pitch of the union that fits in the 2 rear brake calipers?
