about the cheapest and easiest thing you can do is try a different spring in the rear(driven)clutch. to keep the motor in the powerband the motor itself is running ok?? good compression?? carburation??
How about have a full tune up then from there try to source out a bigger block, cams, bigger carb or better yet a stroker kit. Try to search the net there are alot of online shop that can help you out.
