I have a 99 sportsman 500 that is very hard to turn over, if I take the spark plug out turns over very easy and there is no noises coming from the engine. I put the plug back in and it is very hard to get to turn over. I've gottin it started one time, since then its just difficult to get it to turn over. Seems like there is to much compression. If anyone can help me with this issue I would be forever greatfull.

There is a compression release mechanism on them for startup. Yours may be malfunctioning. Out tippy could simply have a weak battery, weak starter, or poor connection in the starter circuit

Thank you for the reply, I've checked the starter circuit it good and the battery is brand new. So you think it may be the compression release mechanism on the cam?

Did you check the compression? How exactly did you check the starter? They can appear good without load but not be strong enough when under load.
