Hello all. I have a 2000 Sportsman 500. The fan quit working on it today. Thinking it was the fan itself I hooked it up to a battery and it is still working. Question 1: I'm thinking that it must be the sensor located on the bottom corner of the radiator. Does this sound right? Anything else I could check before buying a new sensor? Question 2: Any hints on how to get at this sensor?

Thanks!!!

I have a 1996 Sportsman 500 and the sensor on it is located at the top of the radiator and is easy to reach. If you can get the wires off you can bridge between the two wires with a short piece of wire and the fan should run. If it does, then the sensor is bad. Actually I ran mine quite awhile that way before I replaced the sensor.

just like you said ,creep in through right side. have a drain pan ready. it would be a good time for some fresh antifreeze if you haven't done that in a while.
