Went out to plow today, and went to back up. Then when I went to pull forward I couldn't get the shifter out of reverse. Finally parked it.

Doing some digging found it could be:

-Water frozen up in shift mechanism
-Sometimes Low and Reverse will go in together, there should be a way to pop it out of low and get it working.

When someone says "shifter case" is that the box the shifter itself goes into?

when mine did that, a crack in the shifter boot alowed water to get in there and it froze up good. cleaned out ice and all was good, still need a new boot though lol

Thanks! Took it apart and was able to get it unstuck. No ice, just seems that I had the low and reverse condition going on. After fiddling with it popped out of low. I am now very careful to come to a complete stop before trying to shift it.

Pretty sure it needs to be adjusted since it can he difficult to shift at times.

I found when this happened to mine it was usually loose linkages on transmission.
