I recently bought a 2001 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO Remington Editon. It did not run when i bought it. I found that the pulse coil was bad so I replaced it and now it will idle just fine all day long but as soon as I try to rev the engine up it starts backfiring out the carb intake and the exhaust pipe. Anyone know what might be wrong?

bad fuel maybe,drain fuel put in some premium add some sea foam from autoparts store. clean carb,air filter ,check plug lean rich,thats were i would start.
