Ok so I have spent the last couple days tearing this thing apart testing wires without a service manual (not for lack of looking) figuring out what wires run to where and what they do. I have found that when I unhook the wires that run from the key and kill switch to the black wire that runs to the CDI box I get spark and it'll run fine other than being able to shut it off naturally.

A little background on the situation...
I had the quad out last weekend and took it through the creek it didn't look deep at all so I figured why not. Well naturally as I was going I saw a good sized rock right in front of me so I swerved and just nicked it with the front right tire. Needless to say the quad ended up sideways and died... :pat:

so the deal is when both the key and kill switch are hooked up to the cdi box wire It's constantly completing the circuit ending in no spark...

I did just have it running for about 20 min with both the key and kill switch hooked up and now it's malfunctioning again I just don't understand how you can have both those wires hooked up and not have it completing the circuit...

Any ideas would be great!
Ok I'm done writing now... LOL

Take a look at the ETC(electronic throttle control) switch on the thumb throttle. I bet it has water in it. Dry it out and everything should be fine. You might have to clean the small micro switch with some sandpaper or emory cloth it might have some corrision on it.

How I fixed it. Well kinda...

Ok thanks guys I will definitely check that out this weekend when I get a chance to tear it apart again. I will let you guys know what i find out!
What was the issue?.
My machine is doing the same thing.
Thanks
I ended up having to unhook the kill switch on the handlebars. It doesn't shut off from there anymore but it still shuts off with the key and it runs so it works for me.
