First time changing front pads. I have a service manual and I have looked at you tube videos (2003 500 sportsman) and seems easy. I have one question. Is the pad adjuster screw under that rubbery cap on the calipers (Left side of the picture) . No picture showing it specifically in the manual and I tried pulling it off and it would not come out. I'm afraid to rip the rubber top. Is it under there? Still use a 3/16" allen/hex wrench to back it off 2 - 3 turns? This then gives you the space to remove the pads? Thanks.

I finally figured it out. Its the screw to the right of the picture. Changed the pads with no other problems. What is the item on the top left for?

Thanks,

Bruce

No it's not under the capped rubber it's the other side. Unscrew the adjuster a couple full turns. Press the piston in. Install your pads and adjust them.

Anytime. I back the adjuster off 1 full turn. Factory spec is 1/2 turn.
