There is only one control wire to the solenoid - it is white with a red stripe - it only connect to the solenoid on one end and the key switch on the other end. Disconnect it from the solenoid and check for 12v+ when the key is on - if there is voltage on the wire without turning the key switch to the start position, unplug the key switch from the wiring harness - if the voltage disappears, replace the key switch - if the voltage is still present, find the short in the wht/red wire to either the red/blk or red/wht wire.

Do you wonder why I never buy from Amazon, Ali Baba and certain other online sellers? My wife is learning that all the shit offered on QVC and Home Shopping are in most cases not worth having.

A lot may depend on what you're buying on Amazon, I purchase dozens of items each year from Amazon, only a couple times did I get less than what I expected but was able to return those item free of charge and always got the money returned to my bank within a couple days.
This year already I have 7 pages of Amazon purchases.
