2004 Polaris sportsman 90 electrical issues

I have two Polaris sportsman 90cc two stroke oil injected four wheelers. Both fire up and run good for the first 30 seconds. The first time you let off the throttle it begins to back fire and pop and bang. It then takes awhile to snap out of it. Sometimes they also die at idle shortly after starting. Carbs are both perfect and working properly. New spark plugs. I believe it could be the safety switch in the throttle that is going bad and shorting out. Has anyone had this problem? Also is there a way to by pass it temporarily to test it with out the switch. Any help or thoughts is greatly appreciated. There is not much that usually stumps me. But these are giving me a run for my money.

What year models - if it's throttle safety switch that is a problem, it's usually because the throttle cable does not have sufficient free play and causing the switch to trigger.

they are 2004 sportsman. I have adjusted the throttle to take most of the play out.

That may be your problem, you have to have play in the throttle cable.
Yep - need about 1/4" of free play before the lever starts pulling on the cable

I had an experience that was similar in the way that it would start well, but not idle or run off throttle very well. A valve adjustment remedied this for me.
Still fighting one. Compression and read valves are good and play in throttle has been set to 1/4”. Got it running good but still seems to have electrical problems. After letting off the gas and coasting and then returning to throttle it back fires quite a bit. Is there a way to bypass the ceiling box to temporarily eliminate that as the problem.
ceiling box ?

ceiling box ?
I meant cdi box. It auto corrected lol. This thing may be the death of me. Got it narrowed down to a fuel problem I believe. After putting a brand new carb on it does not do it if it is choked. However with the choke off it does it. The idle screw on either carb does not adjust the rpm’s for some reason.

New carb is not jetted correctly - probably too rich on the pilot jet - choke is a throttle bypass enriching circuit - it raises the idle and provides a separate fuel rich mixture, but raising the idle leans the mixture also.

I guess the box on top of the trailer would be a ceiling box😂
