Ok... this is killing me.
I have a 2004 sportsman 500 ho. Ive had it since new and all of a sudden almost a year ago it stopped running. I had some maintenance to do to it so I thought nothing of it and ordered a slew of parts and began the maintenance. After getting it all together I turned it over but couldn't get it to fire. so I began working backwards. Fuel was good..cleaned carb and checked fuel lines... check spark... no spark.. almost. Some times I get one solitary single spark on the first revolution of the motor when cranking. so I pull recoil off and check fly wheel and magnetic position sensor. Replaced magnetic position sensor as it had a little damage to the face of it. No solution from that. Next I checked all the wiring connections and wires for cracks or whatever... nothing. Now I get direction to replace the stator and positioning sensor from a polaris tec. Cost $550(small town) for parts and I just finished installing it but I have gotten no where. Still no spark except for the single solitary spark sometimes.......................
so far put 1900.00 in parts on it and its really hurting my brain now.
any help is appreciated
