FOR PEOPLE WITH IDLING BUT INSTANT STALL (Can restart immediately)

Have a 05 700 EFI, ran great on a 3 day trip to the lake, brought it home went to go for a ride the next weekend started up and idled. Soon as i touched the throttle it died instantly. First thing I thought of was the ETC, looked like it was working properly. Took a look and measured TPS (all good). As per service manual checked intake and exhaust for blockage, checked fuel pressure (39psi), changed spark plugs, took off-run-off switch apart (Found switch contact plastic melted - new switch required).

With new switch installed, same result, changed throttle assembly (incl ETC).

Runs like new again (ETC afterall! :banghead:) Must have been a bad connection in the throttle plugin. I was worried it was the ECU/ECM $$$.

Thanks for sharing the info

I've got an '05 700 too and it has 4100 miles on it.

I wonder what issues I'll be facing in the future.

The fuel pump went out and thanks to this forum I was able to just put in one I found at Autozone rather than replace the entire gas tank. $$$!

And I got the infamous check engine "46" error and a simple cable replacement under the seat fixed that.

Other than that it's just been normal maintenance, no issues.

I've been hammering on the bike for so long it just seems like I'm due for something new to fail.
