we bought new. does do a lot of idling.it start a ticking sound. found that it was out of time by 2 notches. retimed it. but it did it again. I should note that we did replace timing chain and top sprocket.i,m suspecting bottom sprocket but they offer crank shaft and sprocket as assembly. expensive!
any suggestion ? Thanks.

change tensioner when we put on timing chain. guides looked good. and bottom sprocket looked good. how does braking work on down word slopes ?

If your talking about engine braking, it has a one-way bearing in the primary clutch that helps keep the belt from over running.
