My machine is at 52 hours now so I just did my second oil change tonight (first one @ 10 hours).

And the drain for the crankcase oil is an absolute pain in the ass!

There is not enough room in the skid plate to get your fingers in, and if you go thru the R/S foot well with a long extension, the driveshaft is in the way.

Are there any tips on getting to it that I didn't think of?!

EDIT: Also how do I get rid of the service light (the blinking wrench) on start up?

Welcome aboard. I take the right running board off every oil change, makes it easier as i can get my fingers in to start it, and see what i am doing. You can easily slip a wrench up through the skid plate to snug it up.

I also primed it last change, and the bike runs quieter than it did by following the manual, which states no need to prime. I will prime every change now.

You go into diagnostic mode to reset the wrench.

You can download a service manual here for free.

You could get a set of smaller hands :D

It is a bit awkward to get to and I think that's why many people just skip it (myself not included).

To reset the service hours: set the parking brake, put it in neutral, hold yellow overide button in & then the turn key on. Then use the button to scroll through the menu until you get to the service interval screen. Reset to the hours you would like it to remind you at.

Out the top of the oil resevoir tank is a big black hose. If you feel it has a slit in it then pinch in on the side AWAY from the oil resevoir so that air rushes out of the slit. And your good to go!

So far each time I have done it, no air really came out. So to be totally honest, I don't think its ESSENTIAL to prime it.
