2012 sportsman 850 drivetrain noise question

Hi all,
I am trying to figure out a noice I hear front the drivetrain I hear most noticeable when engine is off and I moving it around by pushing it. I think I have heard same noise when maneuvering it is tight spots.

the best I can describe said noise is it sounds like a clicking similar to a mechanical locker ratcheting to let a wheel slip. Kinda a clanking noise.
Is there some locker (850 XO eps sportsman) used in these machines in the rear diff that could ratchet/clanking? Definitely hear it best as I move it around by hand with pretty tight corners.
I’ll try and get a video

Jack it up put it on jack stands and run it to see where your noise is coming from.

Great idea. Thank u. Fought a brake job that should have been two hours max and ended up all day event today so hopefully I can try that tomorrow. Appreciate the perspective.
I had same clicking on tight turns. I have a 2102 550 HO. It needed all 4 differentials replaced as well as drive train. Gears in rear were stripped.

Appreciate the note, but do you mean “Cv joints?” There are two of those (to my understanding) on each axle so a total of eight in 4WD setup, but i think only two “diferentials.”
So i jacked it up and shook back and forth each wheel and do hear rattling and looseness predominantly out of the read differential- or that is what it sounds like to me. I am honestly very surprised there seems to be no “real” differential but instead just a t/p with a spool connecting the two rear half-shafts. I would think this would be very hard on CV joints when navigating turns since by definition the outer wheel must spin faster than the inner.
is the only “open” style diff the one included in the “turf-mode?” How hard is it to install a turf-mode rear diff or-are there better options?
I use this thing for all my basic transportation here and some of the roads are now (unfortunately) being paved which seems like it is very hard on the drivetrain unless the differential can accommodate the outer wheel spinning faster.
this is why in my original note i said it sounded like a ratcheting style of locker.
does anyone make a ratcheting rear locking diff for these machines?
