Get rid of the K&N filter and put the OEM filter in - the K&N will cause a lean mixture and possibly cause backfire in the intake and the most common of a backfire from the exhaust can be a failing spark plug.
My unit has run perfectly since purchase new, regular Polaris service and maintenance, as required for warrenty. Started to have some issues with low battery but to be expected after 7 years. About month ago it started to die while at idle, would start again but no idle. Did a bit of investigating and was advised to replace the battery, low voltage could affect computer, as well as install new air filter. While in the shop I thought to try it with no air filter and a boost on battery. Started up ran perfect. Bought a K and N filter and new battery, after installation upon start up ran few min then started backfire and no idle again! Wondering if new plugs be in order or would correct the problem. I’m a senior so under 200 hrs and 1600kms total. You would think that 500.00 service last spring would get you new air filter if required and new plugs but obviously not. Any invite be appreciated. Of note I did switch to hi test fuel awhile back figured low usage be better but maybe not the case. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks
