Hi gang,
What are the differences between the 850 and the 850SP. I see the rims, eps, and ADC. Are there any other differences?

These machines have the same body, engine orientation, and frame right?

Does anyone have a 2015 850 non-SP?

The only difference between the two is the EPS, Close ration AWD, ADC, Painted Plastics and the wheel/tire combo. So if those things are appealing to you, go with the SP model, if not, you'll be very happy with the base 850 Sportsman too.

I have the 850 base model (still has an "sp" decal on the pod. No EPS no fancy wheels, fewer choices in color (mine is green) Otherwise they are mechanically identical. I added the SuperATV EZSteer kit and am very pleased with it and the 850. Awesome machine.

Well, I got it with the Polaris 3500 winch and at a dealer demonstration deal - they had used it once in their yard for plowing snow. I did not take the plow, no use for it. Had 1.5 hours with 4 miles. They also added heated grips and thumb; I paid $7,750 with tax and registration. I think a pretty good deal. And thats with a 2.1% finance deal (not Polaris) on $3k of the total. Tax here is 7.5% The power steering kit cost me $695 after haggling with SuperATV.
First time I've done business with this dealer - I'll be going back.

I think the 2015 Sportsman 1000XP is the only model that comes with the winch, standard and Polaris calls it integrated. I don't know that the others would be termed integrated. I have a Polaris 3500 winch with synthetic rope, installed by the dealer and it is a pretty clean looking install with no cutting of the plastic or anything else. I believe all the '15 Sportsmans, 570 and bigger, come with what is termed an integrated plow mount.

I think the winch mounts are the same on all the XP/SP lines now. Makes install very easy I've heard.

When you buy the Polaris integrate winch it will come already mounted inside the winch mount and the contacter is mounted to the mount as well. Just run the +/- cables to your terminal strip and there is already a wire ran from the winch mounting area to the handle bars to plug in the in/out switch. Install on my 570 took about 20-30 minutes total. Very easy

All 2015 sportsman apparently have the integrated winch wiring and hardware already in place.
Here is a commercial about it from Polaris.

We ended up picking up the 2015 850 non-sp today. I'll do a write up in the new purchase price section. OTD it was $7500 with michigan 6% sales tax and all fees. (No winch yet)

Hay all.. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a new 2015 sportsman in June. Up to this point all I've been looking at for the last 3 or 4 months is the 570Sp model which I have decided to purchase. However my dealer has a 2015 850SP for only $700 more.

My question, is the added HP worth the extra $$$? Is the twin prostar 850 a smother over all better ride than the prostar 570? any other pro's & con's?

For $700 I would take the 850 over the 570.

Its sort of the same argument as the ETX vs 570. ( 30hp vs 44hp)

The 570 has 44hp and the 850 has 77hp. So if you need the extra power or just like the smoothness of the twin go for the 570. If you want better gas milage, and think the 570 will be enough for the riding you do, get it.

There will be arguably no difference in ride quality between the 2.

Power is addicting. With such s small difference in price is definitely get the 850.
