Recently I acquired a 2016 Polaris Sportsman 450 that needed an engine rebuild. With the help of Latebird, and my local Polaris Dealer I learned that Polaris actually used a 570 engine for this model year. Just thought this was good information to pass on. I will be doing a rebuild post of the engine from the bottom up in the future.

So they put the 570 engine in all of them for that model year?

Yes, that is my understanding. I assume they ran out of engines and decided to put the 570 in. We used to do this at Briggs and Stratton all the time as well. The tractor my say its an 18hp, but you actually have a 22 hp that is "sticker-ed down" You will know when you take out the plug and it has a 10mm MR7F in it. Dam compression and leak down tester wont fit without the 10mm adapter.

In theory, I should be able to take the ECM off my 570 to give it a try.....
