I see this question for other models and years but I have a 2017 Sportsman 450 H.O. and i have a enclosure on the top for use in winter when plowing. Would love to put a 12v heater in there but they say needs about 150 watts and trying to find out if anyone knows if it can handle it. I have a few extra 12v LED lights on there too. Not sure how much power they use but would be good to know what it can handle?
Thanks!

The alternator output is

Rectangle Font Number Logo Brand

That is 560 watts AC = appx 280 watts DC - the available amperage is about 18.9 - a 12v 150 watt heater will draw about 10 amps leaving 8.9 amps to power the lights, ignition, CDI, ECM and charge the battery.

If you install the heater, check the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running about 3000 RPM - if the voltage is falling, the heater is using all the available amperage and the battery will go dead while you are riding.
