I've never driven a RZR, what is the display telling you?
Polaris is just electro magnet that engage the 4x4.

And 4x4 is only a river when needed. Leave the switch on and 4x4 only engages with slip.

My Sportsman, I o ow if I've left 4x4 on because swinging the rear out is very difficult, 2x4, very easy with a little throttle.

So get in some light mud and throttle it. If mud flies from the front it's in. If only the back then its off.

Someone might have a better answer though.

Jack the front up and block it. Jack the rear up and block it. In 2WD only the rear tires will spin. In AWD all 4 will spin.
