I just purchased a 2022 sportsman with 12.1 miles on it. All visual inspections looked fine at the sellers I trailered it home about 75 miles, tied down, no movement. I unloaded it into my garage in the dark. Went out to show to my dad, started it, moved it forward and reverse just to sho him the operations and shut it down. Hopped off and noticed a pretty good amount of red fluid under the unit. I will clean up to investigate the true location of the leak but I’m curious to know if there are any know issues I should be looking for? This is very disappointing as the unit is like brand new, 12 miles, c’mon. Any help would be appreciated. I’ll update when I know more. Thanks, Ryan

Just bought used 2022 with only 12.1 miles. Visual inspections at sellers revealed nothing out of ordinary and nothing to lead to any issues. Trailered home 75 miles tied down, unloaded to garage. Showed my dad typical operations in the AM, forward, reverse etc. then shut off. Noticed pretty decent amount of red fluid under the unit. I’ll wash up in order to know the exact location of the leak but this is very disheartening at only 12 miles. Is there anything I should look for off the bat? Any know issues? Any help would be appreciated. I’ll update when I know more.

I’m not sure if any fluids that should be red. What model did you get? And did you check the fill and drain plugs of transmission? Polaris transmission fluid looks purple if I remember right

My 570 appeared to be leaking when I got it too, they had spilled a little gear oil when they filled or checked the front diff. I cleaned it off and it never returned

It's odd that you are seeing red fluid. Stock Polaris front & rear differential fluid is clear in color and the trans. oil is blue/purplish in color. I'm curious to know where you find the leak coming from. Let us know.

The red color threw me off to, that would only make sense if it had more miles and the previous owner used ATF in the front diff.

WoW, that's weird! I would contact the seller and ask if they messed with fluids! If it had more miles I might think "Tacky Red" tractor grease but this is out of this world.

Yeah I get that, but no one should be changing any oil at 12 miles

It could have hit a tree, smashed the radaitor in and then repaired ATV with new parts and RED coolant. It's a used ATV and having only 12 miles on it and for sale, we don't know the complete story why.

Well.. it's safe to say that unless princess RC6071 responds as to what was found, we will never know. Its just like how many licks does it really take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop.. we may never know because Mr. Owl could only get to three before biting into it.

The suspense of these things is making us grow older quicker I tell ya.

I've seen blue (Peak), green (Prestone) and yellow coolant never red. What coolant is red?
